Strike?

MLB needs to do this, and now:

Take Gameday, it’s groundbreaking presentation of each pitch. Put it in “real time” - pitches come in at the appropriate velocity out of an animated pitcher’s hand. There’s an animated batter. There’s loud sounds, including some rude people talking about your mother. Now, call it a ball or strike. Do this over and over for about fifty pitches or so.

Then plot the balls or strikes. See how accurate people are. See if they can spot a 94 mph fastball with some tail or catch where a backup slider ticks over the plate. What do you think the accuracy would be for the average fan? How consistent would they be?

My guess? They still wouldn’t shut up, but in the back of their head, they’d understand a bit more.

Do this, MLB. Please.
